Schedules and Program Features
Our Winter/Spring training program schedule is 16 weeks and is broken down in weekly segments. Once you become a member, the following program elements are provided:
- Invitation to the Sacfit App, which provides access to all Sacfit training program facets, including: quick tips, workout technique instructions, and workout routes throughout the Parkway bike path and regional trail system with voice-navigation at your fingertips
- Your weekly training schedule segment emailed directly to you. In each weekly segment, we provide specific details, comments, or instructions pertinent to the specific training week.
- Presentations and seminars from health/fitness industry experts related to training, nutrition, injury prevention, and entry into an occasional Sacfit raffle!
- Interactive meetings where you are able to ask questions, live or via chat, related to the training program, seminars, and coaching.
Wow, the only thing left would be if we served you breakfast in bed! Hmmm…
Target Races and Goals
HALF MARATHON TRAINING PROGRAM
For the half marathon training program, we offer several target races to choose from and corresponding training schedules to match:
1. Shamrock’n Marathon. An optional half marathon for intermediate and advanced walkers and runners. This year it will be held March 16, 2025.
2. American River Parkway Half Marathon. Our training program target half marathon. We encourage all our team members to enter this race. This race has the largest and heaviest medal of any half marathon in California – and it’s the only race in the world that provides personalized medals as you cross the finish line! This year it will be held April 26, 2025.

FITNESS TRAINING PROGRAM
If you are just getting into (or back into) the fitness routine, participation in races and other events may not be on your list right now, but should you feel inspired after being with Sacfit, you have options!
- Valentines Run.This is a long-time local event and the only one of it’s kind that offers 1.8 mile and four- mile courses. This year it will be held on February 9, 2025.
- Shamrock’n 5K.This option affords a shorter-distance opportunity to participate in the Shamrock weekend. This year it will be held March 15, 2025.
- American River Parkway 5K. Held on the same day as the American River Parkway half marathon so those wanting a shorter distance can do so and also enjoy the full hoopla of the entire event! This year it will be held April 26, 2025.
